A glass curtain wall (reflection glass curtain wall) refers to an exterior building envelope or decorative structure that is supported by a structural system and allows for a certain degree of displacement relative to the main structure, without sharing the loads of the main structure.
The wall can be single-pane or double-pane glass. Glass curtain walls are an aesthetically pleasing and innovative method of architectural wall decoration, a prominent feature of the modernist high-rise building era. According to statistics from the bird conservation volunteer organization FLAP (Fatal Light Awareness Program) in 2013, between one million and nine million migratory birds die annually in Toronto alone due to these glass curtain walls.
